Jeff’s Background and Origin
For decades, Jeff has been the go-to for enterprises seeking hands on guidance for ways to accelerate revenue, whilst ensuring that the growth is profitable. His expertise in market strategy, product price and position in market, plus value proposition and people capabilities allow him to create high performing teams. This is all underpinned with implementing best practice innovative solutions and market leading technologies allow both scale and profitable growth.
Jeff McLean, the Founder & CEO of Upscaled, has more than 20 years of experience in both private and public companies. Jeff’s passion in business in growth, and he has a proven track record in identifying and then capitalising on opportunities in the market that others overlook.
Foundations
Jeff began his career in debt collection in Canada, and then became one of the first debt buyers in Australia after moving back home and joining Humm Group – at that stage an organisation with just 40 people.
A few years later, Jeff had become instrumental in the company reaching 1,000 employees. He was given the role of establishing a new office for the company and then growing it at an incredible rate to 300 people, becoming one of the key parts of the company’s overall business.
Enterprise Growth
Over the next 15 years, Jeff held roles at other fast-growing ASX 200-listed companies, including Eclipx and FlexiGroup, before in 2019 co-leading a management buy-out of Grays.com. With this company, he successfully drove a turnaround and a 400% increase in profitability.
Jeff established Upscaled in 2022 to bring his proven capabilities in growth and transformation in support of other companies as a true independent voice with a proven track record of cutting through the noise to help companies meet and exceed growth ambitions.
